Not Receiving Disability Grant Payment
If you have not received your payments for the month, you can check the SASSA Status Check for Disability Grant online to receive confirmation. Your grant payments are scheduled to be paid on exact payment dates by the SASSA Departments. If your status shows as approved but there is no record of your grant, it may indicate corruption at a Post Office.
It is advisable to report your grant issue to the SASSA helpline at 0800 601 011 and consider Change SASSA Banking Details. This will replace the Cash Send method, which is no longer valid. Now your approved grant paid directly to your account, avoiding delayed payments and the hassle of going to the Post Office for withdrawals.
SASSA Pending Status for Disability Grant
You can rest assured, as the pending status typically lasts for up to two weeks (14 days) which is normal for Sassa payment processing. If your SASSA status shows ‘pending for reapplication’ for your disability grant, it means to update your SASSA online application to reapply for the grant with the correct information. Your grant will be reprocessed once you provide the proper documentation required.
- Important Note: If your eligibility changes or your health condition improves as indicated in the medical report reviewed by SASSA every 12 months, you may no longer qualify for the Disability Grant.
SASSA Appeal for Declined Disability Grant
If your Disability Grant application is unfairly declined, you have the option to appeal for reinstatement. The ITSAA department will review your appeal application, including Means Test criteria and verification results, which may take up to 90 days to complete. You can access the complete process of the SASSA Appeal Application online to have your request sent for reconsideration.
