How to appeal a declined SASSA grant application

If SASSA declines your social grant or SRD application, you can ask for the decision to be reconsidered by lodging an appeal with the Independent Tribunal for Social Assistance Appeals (ITSAA). Appeals are submitted online through the SASSA SRD portal.

Give a clear, specific reason and correct any errors in your application before appealing. Receiving a replacement decision can take several weeks.
