Grant Eligibility Requirements for June 2025 SASSA Applications

New applicants must meet the specific eligibility criteria for the type of SASSA grant application or reapplication. Each social grant program has its own requirements that must be met to receive monthly payments. To be eligible for SASSA support, applicants must be South African citizens, permanent residents, or refugees legally residing in the country.

Grant qualification criteria include applicant age, income level, asset thresholds, marital status, and the number of dependent children. SASSA’s strict identity verification process may also require specific documents for proof to ensure that no individual can receive more than one grant or apply while living in a state-funded institution.

Once your application is processed and approved, you will be notified of your SASSA application status and be prepared to collect your grant payment in the June 2025 payout cycle.
