SASSA war veterans grant: who qualifies and how to check your status
The war veterans grant supports South Africans who served in the Second World War (1939–1945) or the Korean War (1950–1953). Status can be checked online using your ID number and the phone number registered for the grant.

The war veterans grant is R2,420 per month for 2026/27. The amount is set in the national budget and can change.
