SASSA Payment Dates 2026/2027 Full Year

For April 2026, SASSA grant payment dates have been confirmed for beneficiaries of the Older Persons Grant, War Veterans Grant, Disability Grant, Care Dependency Grant, Child Support Grant, Foster Child Grant, and Social Relief of Distress (SRD).

SASSA Payment Dates

SASSA payment dates cover the complete 2026/2027 financial year from April 2026 to March 2027, providing timely monthly grants for all programs that empower low-income families and uplift needy South African communities.

SASSA Dates for April 2026 Social Grant Payments

SASSA payments for social grants are paid in the first week of April month, depending on the grant type.

• Older persons (Sassa old age grant) paid on Thursday 2 April 2026.
• SASSA Disability grants paid on Tuesday 7 April 2026.
• SASSA Child Support grants paid on Wednesday 8 April 2026.

SRD Payment Dates for 2026

The Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant payments are set to be distributed in the last week of each month, separate from the social grant dates schedule.

• SASSA R350 SRD grant payment dates are 23, 24, 29, and 30 April 2026.

For April 2026, approved beneficiaries of the SRD program will receive R370 (ZAR, South African Rand).

Currently, the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) SASSA R350 grant is set at R370 per individual beneficiary. Further increases to SRD payments are expected in 2027.

SASSA Status Check for Payment Dates

You can use the SASSA status check for payment dates to receive confirmation of your approved grant’s payday to receive it. This status check provides you with the current month’s social grant and SRD payment approval in detail.

1. Go to the SASSA status check for payments.
2. On the SASSA website, click on the SASSA Status Check section.
3. Enter your South African ID and the cell phone number registered for the grant.
4. Click the Status Check button to view your SASSA grant status results.
5. SASSA’s database will display your grant status results on the screen.

With the online status check, you can determine whether your grant is processed or pending approval. Once approved, you will receive SASSA payout for the month.

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has introduced various payment methods to ensure beneficiaries receive their SASSA SRD R350 payments efficiently. Beneficiaries can utilize the following options.

1. South African Post Office Branch (SAPO)
2. Personal Bank Account (Not Joint Bank Account)
3. SASSA Card using ATMs and authorized retailer outlets, Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Spar, Checkers, USave, and Boxer.
