January 2026 SRD R370 Status Check
New year, much-awaited SRD R370 grant payments will be distributed from 27 January to the end of the month. To confirm your eligibility for the SRD grant payments, check your SASSA status online for January 2026. You will receive a confirmation SMS to collect your approved grant money from your selected pay point or through your bank account.
According to SASSA, the SRD R370 payments have been scheduled for the last five days of January 2026.

Check your SRD status online on the SASSA website to see if your January 2026 grant has been approved. If approved, your payment will be paid on the SASSA-announced dates mentioned above.
If your bank account is linked to the SASSA SRD Grant, you can expect your payment to be deposited directly into your account. If you chose another payment method during your application, your grant will be available at the relevant pay points.
Expected SASSA Payment Increase in April 2026
Beneficiaries can expect the SRD grant to increase from R370 to a higher amount starting in April 2026. The increase will take effect with the extension of the grant from March 2026 to March 2027.
The exact new amount will be announced by SASSA in late March or early April 2026. We will update as soon as the official announcement is released.
