SASSA ID Verification for June 2025 Grant Payments
If your SASSA grant has not been paid due to identity verification pending, you need to complete your SASSA ID verification for June 2025 grant payments. Since May, thousands of South Africans have faced this issue, often because their identity details don’t match what’s on the original Home Affairs records, or the SASSA system can’t confirm their identity due to incorrect information provided in the application or reapplication.
SASSA ID Verification for June 2025 Grant Payments
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) now requires ID verification and biometric checks through in-person visits to SASSA offices. This updated approach helps prevent fraud and ensures that only eligible people receive SASSA grants, including the SRD R350, Old Age Grant, Disability Grant, and Child Support Grant. If your June 2025 payment has not been received, the first thing you should do is check your SASSA status for June 2025 and confirm whether the reason is ID verification or else.
You’ll need to visit your nearest SASSA office in person and bring your original identity documents to complete the process, if your status says “identity verification failed” or shows as pending. A SASSA representative will verify your original ID documents and take your biometric fingerprints, which are then matched with the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) database. Once approved, your ID verification for June 2025 will be completed, and your grant payment for June will be processed.
Update: SASSA now verifies identity strictly in the office, not online. If you’ve previously used an alternative form of ID (such as an asylum seeker permit or a residence permit), you’ll also need to verify that in person. There’s no need to panic. SASSA’s verification process is designed to prevent fraud and ensure its records are accurate and up to date.
