Update Your Phone Number Now or Miss Your SASSA Grant in July 2025
SASSA grant beneficiaries who have recently lost their mobile phones or switched to a new number must update their phone number now or miss their SASSA Grant in July 2025. Your personal identity document and registered phone number are both required for checking monthly grant status, accessing payments at retail outlets, receiving verification OTPs, and official communication and updates from SASSA.
Update Your Phone Number Now or Miss Your SASSA Grant in July 2025
SASSA uses your contact details, including your registered phone number and email address, to notify you about monthly payments, grant status updates (approved or declined), appeal responses, identity verification link, and to send OTPs (one-time pins) when you log in to the SASSA portal or collect your grant at retail outlets.
Without your registered phone number, you won’t be able to receive your SASSA grant payment for July 2025 or get official updates related to your grant. If you’ve changed your contact details, update your phone number online or visit your nearest SASSA office to ensure you receive your July payment without issues.
- To change or update your phone number online, go to srd.sassa.gov.za.
- Click on the “Change phone number” service.
- Provide your new number and complete your ID verification via an OTP to verify that you are the original applicant.
- Once verified, your new phone number will be updated in the SASSA system.
SASSA takes up to two weeks (14 working days) to change your phone number and will send you an SMS confirming that your new phone number is successfully processed and linked to your grant application.
After your phone number is successfully updated and verified, you can check your SASSA status for July 2025 to ensure it is correctly linked to your SRD R370 application or any other social grant (Older Persons, Child Support, or Disability).
