SASSA payments for social grants are paid in the first week of each month, depending on the grant type.

SRD Payment Dates 2026 for SASSA R350 Now R370

The Social Relief of Distress (SRD) SASSA R350 grant payments are distributed in the last week of each month, separate from the social grant dates schedule.

• SRD SASSA R350 payment starts from January 27 to 31 January 2026.

SASSA will start commencing the SRD grant payments from Tuesday, 27 January 2026, to Saturday, 31 January 2026. Beneficiaries of the SRD program will now receive R370 (ZAR), an increase from the previous amount of R350 South African Rand.

Update: The Social Relief of Distress (SRD) SASSA R350 grant has increased from R350 to R370 payments, providing an additional R20 for beneficiaries. Both new and existing recipients benefit from the increased payments throughout the year 2026.

SASSA Status Check for Payment Dates

You can SASSA status check for payment dates to receive confirmation of your approved grant’s payday to receive it. This status check provides you with the current month’s social grant and SRD payment approval in detail.

1. Go to the SASSA status check for payments.
2. On the SASSA website, click on the SASSA Status Check section.
3. Enter your South African ID and the cell phone number registered for the grant.
4. Click the Status Check button to view your SASSA grant status results.
5. SASSA’s database will display your grant status results on the screen.

With the online status check, you can determine whether your grant is processed or pending approval. Once approved, you will receive SASSA payout for the month.
