Today, Thursday 8 May 2025, SASSA is disbursing the Child Support Grant and Foster Child Grant to beneficiaries across South Africa.

SASSA confirms, children’s grant will be paid today with any additional top-up grants on the same day if approved for supplementary support.
Early this month, SASSA successfully paid allocated payments to Older Persons on 6 May and Disability beneficiaries on 7 May 2025.
All Child Grant beneficiaries must check their bank accounts or SASSA Gold cards today. Remember your Gold Card still valid and works for May 2025 grant payments.
The Child Support Grant amount for May 2025 is R530 per child, while the Foster Child Grant is R1,250 per child for May 2025.

2. Enter your South African ID or Barcode ID
3. Provide your cellphone number
4. Click the status check button to verify your grant status for May 2025
You will be informed via status results on your device screen whether your grant is approved for May 2025 or not.
If your grant is declined, you have the option to appeal SASSA and get it approved through reverification.
