SRD Grant Payments Start from 24 April 2025
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has officially confirmed that SRD grant payments start from 24 April 2025 and continue through Wednesday, 30 April 2025. Approved beneficiaries receive their SRD payment in their bank accounts or through SASSA cards withdrawn at supported retailer payment points on scheduled dates.
SRD Grant Payments Start from 24 April 2025
Beneficiaries with approved SRD applications for April 2025, expect your R370 payment from Thursday, 24 April to Wednesday, 30 April 2025. Before payments begin, beneficiaries must check their SASSA status using their South African ID number and registered cellphone number to confirm approval for April 2025.
Once your status shows Approved for April 2025 your payment is confirmed and will be processed during the scheduled window. Ensure your banking details and phone number are accurate. If your number has changed, update it via the SASSA change phone number process to avoid payment delays or missed SMS notifications.
Note: Grant payments for SASSA R350 applications are processed in batches. Not all beneficiaries will receive funds on the same day.
SRD Grant Increased from R350 to R370 is Permanent
SASSA has permanently increased the SRD grant from R350 to R370 monthly to assist low-income and unemployed citizens amid rising inflation and cost-of-living challenges. Payments for the new and existing beneficiaries are the same, and scheduled SASSA payment dates will begin on 24 April 2025, with funds accessible via direct bank deposit or at designated Pick n Pay, Boxer, or SAPO outlets, based on your chosen collection method.
